Civil War Collections
The Curtis Civil War Collection
The Curtis Civil War Collection was originally donated to Swan Library by William J. Curtis, a dedicated collector of Civil War history. The collection is especially notable for its emphasis on Confederate perspectives, reflecting Mr. Curtis’s many trips to the South where he acquired works that highlight the Southern viewpoint of the war.
The 26th United States Colored Troops Civil War Flag
Hoag Library proudly preserves the historic flag of the 26th United States Colored Troops, a regiment formed during the Civil War. The 26th USCT was composed of African American soldiers.
